A Day at Seven Doves Creamery
7/27/2009 8:06:45 PM
Our friends at the Seven Doves Creamery are experiencing some difficult times.  Since the writing of this article, the dairy has continued to battle issues with the USDA and the co-op that currently holds their contract for milk. In an effort not to send milk that the co-op has refused to reimburse them for, they are experimenting with cheese, ice cream and chocolate to use as much of their milk as possible. Terri and Cory are so grateful to the BAM community supported agriculture program, as we are their only source of income at the present time.

May is strawberry time!  Our family farm, Hardin Farms, will be offering you the experience to come down to the farm and pick your own strawberries, if you wish.  We will provide our fresh picked strawberries in Argenta Market in addition to the farmers' market booth.  If you would like to visit our farm and restaurant please call 870-479-3978.  If you would like to reserve and guarantee your already-picked berries, please send us an email at csalittlerock@yahoo.com.  We will contact you once the berries are ready.

BAM is always looking for new products and farms to include in our cooperative buying program with over 200 family members.

We have never had a head of cabbage in the basket a month csa program. I know there is farmer in Arkansas who can produce a head of cabbage for 200 baskets.  If you know of someone who has cabbage patch, let the know about us or let me know about them.  This is quite frustrating when a common product like this is so hard to find. I think I'll grow some myself 2008 just to make sure.   Examples like this abound in my job as buyer of only Arkansas products. Any help would always be appreciated. Jody
